ROI and ROAS formulas

ROAS = attributed value ÷ campaign spend. ROI = (attributed value − campaign spend) ÷ campaign spend × 100. With $1,000 spend and $1,500 entered value, ROAS is 1.5x and ROI is 50%.

The calculator applies these formulas to the value you enter. The ROI output treats that value as the return measure; it does not independently calculate profit after product or operating costs.

Be explicit about the value measured

Revenue, gross profit, pipeline and collected cash are different measures. Pipeline is potential value; a won deal may still be unpaid. Name the value basis and attribution window when sharing results.

The calculation does not decide which campaign caused a conversion. Use the UTM Builder to create consistently tagged campaign links, then verify attribution in your analytics system.

Need help?

Only the details you need.

The tool is intentionally simple. Open an answer only when you need it.

How does this tool work?
  • Enter campaign spend.
  • Enter the commercial value you intentionally want to compare with that spend.
  • See ROI, ROAS and net return while keeping the value definition explicit.
What is the difference between ROI and ROAS?

ROAS divides attributed value by spend. ROI subtracts spend first, then divides the net return by spend.

Can I use pipeline value?

You can, but label it clearly. Pipeline is potential value and should not be presented as collected revenue or cash.
