Agreements / Quote Revisions

Change the offer without deleting the version the customer saw before.

Keep numbered quote revisions during negotiation, work from the current offer, and create a fresh signing session when the revised version is ready for the customer.

Use a new revision when the offer changes materially

A customer may ask for fewer units, a different service package, another discount or changed terms. Those are not reasons to destroy the previous offer.

Each revision keeps a numbered copy of the earlier quote, so negotiation can move forward without erasing what came before.

Preserve the earlier commercial version

The revision snapshot captures the quote record at that point in the history. Earlier versions remain associated with the same quote rather than becoming random files with names such as final-v3 or final-final.

That gives Sales a reliable answer when a customer asks which price or scope was offered previously.

Keep the latest quote as the working offer

The live quote remains the current record while the revision table holds earlier versions.

Reps can continue editing the active offer without treating historical versions as competing drafts.

Recheck the offer when a changed version needs internal approval

A revised quote can still be held in pending approval before customer signing. Customer signing stays unavailable while that internal review is still pending.

This matters when the revision changes something the team wants reviewed before the customer sees the new version.

Create a fresh signing session for the version being sent

Quote signing pins a generated quote document to a session. Preparing a new signing link can revoke older open or viewed sessions for the same quote.

That reduces the risk of leaving several live acceptance links around while the offer is changing.

Keep the negotiation history after the sale moves into billing

The accepted quote can continue into invoicing while earlier versions remain available in the revision history.

Finance can look back at the earlier commercial history without changing the invoice or the current quote record.

The signing link should point to the version being approved by the customer

When a new signing session is prepared, Lynka checks the generated quote document and its document hash. The source document can be pinned for signing so the evidence refers to a specific PDF rather than whatever the quote happens to look like later.

If a newer signing link supersedes an older open or viewed session, the older session can be revoked. That reduces the chance of two active customer links representing different versions of the same negotiation.

A revision makes a scope negotiation easier to reconstruct

Imagine an agency first quotes strategy, design and implementation. The customer removes implementation and negotiates a lower design fee. The revised offer can become the current quote while the earlier version remains in history.

If the customer later asks why the invoice differs from the first proposal, Sales and Finance can trace the accepted version instead of searching email attachments named final, final-2 and final-revised.

The feature is useful because it answers a very ordinary question: “What exactly changed between the first offer and the one they accepted?”

Negotiation is rarely one draft and one yes. Lynka keeps earlier quote versions so a price or scope change does not turn the commercial history into a folder of manually renamed PDFs.
