Profit & Loss shows the period’s income and expenses

The Profit & Loss report is based on posted journal activity within the selected date range and returns the period income statement.

An empty period is treated as a zero statement rather than an accounting error, which keeps “no activity” distinct from “report failed.”

Balance Sheet checks assets against liabilities and equity

The Balance Sheet is an as-of report built from posted balances. Lynka also checks that assets balance against liabilities and equity, with current earnings included in equity.

That gives Finance an as-of financial-position report rather than reusing the date-range logic of the P&L.

Cash Flow separates operating, investing and financing movement

Cash Flow Statement uses posted journal activity across the selected date window and classifies cash movement into operating, investing and financing sections.

It answers a different question from profit: how cash changed during the period.

General Ledger opens the transaction detail behind an account

General Ledger reports posted ledger activity by date and account.

When a statement total needs explanation, the ledger is the place to inspect the individual postings rather than guessing from the headline number.

Trial Balance checks debit, credit and account balances as of a date

Trial Balance summarizes account debits, credits and balances from posted journals.

It gives Finance an accounting checkpoint between raw ledger detail and the final financial statements.

Chart of Accounts Balances shows where value sits across the ledger

Chart of Accounts Balances uses posted, non-test journal rows and reports in the workspace base currency.

It also keeps debit and credit side information, which makes it useful for reviewing the account structure itself.

A/P Aging focuses on supplier obligations

A/P Aging groups open supplier payables into aging buckets as of the selected date.

That report belongs beside the financial statements because unpaid supplier obligations often explain part of what Finance needs to resolve before close.

Bank Reconciliation Readiness shows what cash work is unresolved

Bank Reconciliation Readiness reports unmatched bank activity and reconciliation exceptions from the current reconciliation state.

It is intentionally a readiness report rather than a historical bank statement report, so Finance can see the open work that remains now.

Use the source references when a total needs a business explanation

Journal entries can retain the source type, source ID and source number behind the posting. Customer invoices, supplier bills and other posted processes can also keep journal references.

That creates a path from report total to account, from account to journal and from journal back to the business record when the source is available.

Each financial statement has its own date logic

Profit & Loss and Cash Flow work over a date window. Balance Sheet and Trial Balance answer an as-of question. The General Ledger follows posted journal detail by entry date.

That distinction is important because a report is not just a different visual of the same dataset. The accounting question determines which transactions and dates belong in the result.

Reports are based on posted accounting activity

Chart of Accounts Balances uses posted accounting activity in the business base currency. The Balance Sheet separately checks the accounting equation and includes current earnings in equity.

These reports are not presented as a general spreadsheet replacement or custom BI builder. They are defined accounting reports built from the posted books.

Profit & Loss asks what happened during a period. Balance Sheet asks where the business stands at a date. General Ledger asks which postings produced an account balance. A/P Aging asks which supplier obligations remain open.

Lynka’s finance reports are not one dashboard with eight labels. Each report answers a different accounting question and uses the date basis that fits that question.
