Sales / Companies & Contacts

One company can have more than one person, deal and conversation.

Keep the customer account separate from individual contacts, mark who handles buying or billing, and let new opportunities reuse the relationship instead of starting from scratch.

Keep the business record separate from the people who work there

A company can carry its trading or legal name, industry, website, phone, tax or registration details, source, owner, team, addresses and custom fields.

Contacts have their own names, emails, phones, job titles and departments. That separation matters when one customer has several people involved in sales, billing and day-to-day work.

Mark the people who matter for different parts of the account

A contact relationship can identify a primary contact, billing contact, decision maker or another relationship role.

The salesperson does not have to encode those jobs into somebody’s surname or keep a private note that nobody else can find.

Keep multiple opportunities under the same customer

The same company can be linked to more than one opportunity while each opportunity keeps its own stage, value, owner and outcome.

That is useful for repeat sales, separate departments or a customer that buys different products or services over time.

Carry the customer into quotes and invoices

Quotes and invoices can link back to the customer and contact involved in the transaction.

Billing and sales therefore do not need separate copies of the same account just because the relationship moved from conversation to commercial document.

Bring support issues back to the account

Support tickets can reference the customer and relevant product, quote or opportunity when those records matter to the issue.

A support agent can work from a customer relationship rather than treating every ticket as an isolated message.

Keep duplicate history recoverable when records are merged

Company, contact and lead records include merge history fields so a consolidated record can retain where a duplicate was merged and why.

That is an internal data safeguard rather than a reason to create duplicates freely, but it helps preserve traceability when cleanup is needed.

Use contact roles instead of stuffing names into notes

The same company may have a person who approves the purchase, another who receives invoices and another who handles the day-to-day relationship. Lynka can mark primary, billing and decision-maker relationships while keeping each person as a separate contact.

That makes the account easier to hand over because the next salesperson can see who plays which role without decoding an old note.

Ownership and territory can live with the account

Customer and contact records can carry owner, team and territory information. That gives a growing sales organization a place to divide responsibility without creating duplicate company records for each rep or region.

The same underlying customer can still support several opportunities and contacts while responsibility is managed around the account.

The person who signs a quote may not be the person who receives the invoice. The person using the product may not control the budget.

A useful CRM should handle that without forcing every stakeholder into a separate company record.

B2B relationships rarely fit into one name and one email address. Lynka gives the company its own record and lets the people, deals and commercial history sit around it.
