Sales / Sales Targets

A target is more useful when you can open the deals behind it.

Set a quota for a rep or team, measure count or won value over a defined period, and drill into the sales records that produced the result.

Set the expectation for the right person and period

A target can belong to one user or one sales team and has a defined start and end date. That supports a rep's monthly goal, a team's quarterly goal or another period without mixing results from outside the window.

Individual and team targets remain separate benchmarks even when they depend on the same underlying deal history.

Measure volume or won value without confusing the two

Supported targets can use a count goal or an amount goal. Amount-based targets keep their currency and can flag when a required conversion is missing.

Closed-sales targets are based on won opportunities, not leads. Qualification and winning are different events in Lynka's sales model.

Put the goal and actual result side by side

Lynka shows actual count or value beside the target and calculates attainment for the selected metric.

The quota answers whether the team is on pace; it does not rewrite the opportunities that generated the actual result.

When somebody asks “what counted?”, open the evidence

Quota drill-down can return the sales records that contributed to attainment, including relevant amount, status and date information.

Managers can inspect the result rather than treating a target percentage as a black box.

Recognize milestones from calculated attainment

The current milestone process records deliveries at 100%, 150% and 200% attainment levels.

Those milestones come from calculated performance rather than a manual celebration flag somebody has to remember to update.

If the quota changes, keep the change visible

Sales target edits are written to audit history with before-and-after state and actor information where available.

A manager can adjust a target when the business genuinely changes without making the original expectation disappear from history.

A percentage on its own is easy to celebrate and hard to explain.

Lynka keeps the goal, period, actual result and contributing sales records close enough that a manager can answer what counted and why.

Lynka treats the target as a benchmark, not a replacement for the sales history underneath it. Actual performance still comes from the records the team closed.

Questions about Sales Targets

Can I set targets for individual reps and teams?
